Se trata de tau Herculidas, provocada por un cometa destrozado: 73P\/Schwassmann-Wachmann 3, descubierto en 1930 cuando pas\u00f3 a 9,2 millones de km. de la Tierra.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, este cometa nunca se volvi\u00f3 lo suficientemente brillante como para ser visible a simple vista; solo se pod\u00eda vislumbrar con unos buenos binoculares o un telescopio.<\/p>\n<p>Aunque orbita alrededor del Sol cada 5,4 a\u00f1os, despu\u00e9s de 1930 estuvo desaparecido durante bastante tiempo. De hecho, entre 1935 y 1974, 73P\/SW3 entr\u00f3 y sali\u00f3 ocho veces sin ser visto. No se volvi\u00f3 a ver hasta marzo de 1979.
